BACKGROUND
The UN Armed Forces Mark III Micron Power Armour is the latest and most advanced Power Armour available to the soldiers of the UN Armed Forces. Unlike its predecesors which were bulky and un-manouverable the Mark III PA suit is agile and form fitting. Advances in technology have permitted the creation of a light full environment suit offering protection from lower powered Mecha weapons. Although certainly unable to withstand full on hits from Macron scale weapons they do offer protection against nearby explosions and weapon detonations. They also offer excellent protection against micron scale hand weapons being that the Armour is similar to that of Variable Fighters.
The UN Mark III PA Suit is expensive but not as expensive as the Mecha of the UN Armed Forces, however equipping large numbers of troops with it and maintaining the suits is a difficult and expensive proposition. Also learning to use the suits takes time which is why the UN Armed Forces reserve the PA suits for specialist PA troops which number more than a single Company per UN Army or UNSM regiment. UN Spacy units are smaller still, numbering only a single, or a few Squads of troops trained and equipped with Mark III Armour for boarding duties in hazardous situations. The UN Air Force is prehaps the branch of the UN Armed Forces that has the least, with usually only a single 10 man Squad per base.
It is rumoured that a special stealth version of the PA suit with a camouflage system built in, and better armour has been designed and built for the Special Space Service (elite branch of the UN Armed Forces,) however this has been denied by UN Officials citing how expensive it was to build the Mark III with its advanced communications and sensor suites.
RPG STATS
Vehicle Types: UN Mark III Micron Power Armour
Class:Micron Power Armour
Manufacturer: UN Spacy
Crew: One pilot
MDC BY LOCATION:
Hands (2) 2 each
Arms (2) 6 each
Legs (2) 7 each
(1) Main Body 15

NOTES:
- Depleting the MDC of the main body will destroy the suit, and most probably the wearer as well. If in a vacuum the suit will decompress.
STATISTICAL DATA:
- HEIGHT:
- Adds 2 inches to wearers height
MASS:
50 kg
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
Adds +3 to strength
POWER PLANT:
Longlife Battery
WEAPON SYSTEMS:
- HAND TO HAND COMBAT: The Mark III Power Armour does not give any excessive bonuses in hand to hand combat other than its armour portection and that unlike the earlier models of Micron scale Power Armour it does not impede the agility of the wearer. The servo assisted arms and legs do however give an additional boost to the damage of the punch or kick of a wearer..
DAMAGE:
STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE PA SUIT:
- COMBAT COMPUTER W/HUD DISPLAYS: The Mark III Power Armour is equipped with a combat computer that can store and analyze data during combat with hostile forces. The helmets visor displays the information to the wearer of the suit in a HUD display format, which
allows the computer to display large amounts of data to the pilot and even highlight enemies overlaid graphics. The combat computer tracks and identifies specific enemy targets, and has a database of
over 1,000 images stored in memory. The computer can identify and track up to
25 targets simultaneously.
- EXTERNAL AUDIO PICKUP: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m). A sound
amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 300 feet away.
- HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS: Special coating on the armour prevents the
penetration of life threatening heat and radiation. A radiation detection and
alarm system are linked with the combat computer and will sound an alarm if there is a
breach in the protective shielding and what the levels of radiation are. The same goes for breaches of the suit whilst in a vacuum.
- HOMING SIGNAL: The Micron Power Armour is equipped with a
homing device that enables rescue teams to locate a disabled Destroid or
ejected pilot. The range of the signal is 100 miles (160 km). Most UN Spacy
ships, Variable Fighters and Destroids can locate and track homing signals,
and the onboard computers will automatically notify their pilots if such a
signal is detected.
- LASER TARGETING SYSTEM: Range: 2 miles (3.2 km). Used for
increased accuracy in the striking of enemy targets and provides the +1 bonus to hit.
- LOUDSPEAKER: A loudspeaker system is built into the suit, which
can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.
- OPTICS: INFRARED: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system
projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but
detectable by IR sensors. The system allows the suit wearer to detect
hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible
to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.
- OPTICS: NIGHTVISION: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light
image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light
which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.
- OPTICS: THERMAL IMAGER: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical
heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and
converts that data into a false-color visible image. The system enables the
pilot to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10%
bonus to pilots using a tracking skill.
- RADIO/VIDEO COMMUNICATION: Long range, directional communications
system with satellite relay capabilities. Range: 200 miles (320 km) or can be
boosted indefinitely via satellite relay.
- STANDARD SURVIVAL KIT: The PA Suit comes equipped with belt mounted equipment pouches which amongst other things contain,a
a medium-sized flashlight, two hand flares, one rocket flare, a compass, infrared distancing
binoculars, a small mirror, a pocket knife, dehydrated and concentrated food
(can be stretched into a five day supply for one person) and basic first aid
items (aspirin, bandages, disinfectants, etc.) There is ample room for more items such as extra food and water, ammunition, and other equipment.
- TACTICAL LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM: The PA suit is pressurized,
and provides air feeds to the suits helmet that provides them with pressurized breathing.
.
