Each Earth Colony has 1-6 UN Forces Bases to provide planetside Defence Forces for the Colony Planet's protection. The types of Bases differ due to the various branches of the UN Armed Forces bases. A UNN Base will be different from a UNAF or UNSM base due to the type of work that they do. Below is the standard UNAF/UNS Base as seen in Macross Plus on the Colony Planet of Eden. I have separated the Test Flight Centre elements of the base out.

The Main Hanger Building contains all of the Valkyries on the Base, and all of their repair and resupply facilites as well. Two Squadrons,(24 Fighters,) are kept on the above ground sections of the base on a Ready Alert Status. All of the other Fightes are stored within the armoured confines of the hanger or in safer underground hanger storage area's. They can however be readied for combat and moved above ground within a few minutes. It is also within this immense hanger that the Control room for the base can be found. It is here that all flight operations across the planet and in orbit are controlled from. Also all automated defences are controlled from here as well. The upper levels of the main hanger crew ready rooms, and simulators for pilots to use. The individual hangers also have the space and facilities to cater for simulators to train personnel on new fighters, or new tactics.
Test Flight Centres
A very few planets have UN Spacy Test Flight Centres based on them. These centres are used for testing new fighters and weapon systems for these fighters. Test Flight Centres have all of the above plus the following.
