Rank Badges are an important part of any uniform as they allow people to clearly see what your rank is, and thus whether they should salute you or not. The UN Armed Forces use a simple colour coded rank structure, with plain coloured bars, that clearly show a persons rank. Rank badges in the UN Armed Forces are worn on the left breast, with the only exception being those of Colony Fleets who wear them on the right breast. The Officers rank badges are the Same across the UN Armed Forces with the only minor exception being that Officers of the rank of Lt. Colonel and above in the UNAF/UNSAF, UNSM and UN Army have a small silver triangular shape beneath their rank badges.
