BACKGROUND
The Stratofortress has had long career with the US Air Force. They have seen many theaters of conflict over the skies of Southeast and Southwest Asia. Although the aircraft were manufactured between the years of 1955 and 1962 they are expected to remain in service into the middle of the 21st century. The Stratofortress provides Theatre Commanders with long range strategic and conventional strike capabilities. In conventional roles the B-52 can perform air interdiction, offensive counter-air, and maritime operations. The B-52 has experienced many upgrades and alterations to keep it battle worthy and survivable well into the twenty-first century. The B-52 carries a crew of five; Aircraft Commander, Pilot, Electronic Warfare Officer, Radar Navigator (responsible for weapons delivery), and Navigator.
