BACKGROUND
The B-2 Spirit is among the few Long-Range bombers that the United States still possesses. Designs for this aircraft first appeared around 1981. To this day most of the information of this aircraft is still highly classified. The B-2 was revealed to the public in 1988 shortly before the first delivery to the USAF. The most notable and recognizable feature to the Spirit is the design. Termed the "Flying Wing" by it's pilots the aircraft resembles a boomerang. What keeps the aircraft so secretive to this day is the stealth technology used in its design. By rounding out the surfaces and designing "stealthy" skin for the aircraft the designer's were able to reduce the Spirit's radar signature by 1/10,000th of the B-52 Stratofortress. With this stealth ability the Spirit can weave through an enemy's air defense net undetected. Radars lose roughly 90% of their detection range when up against a B-2. The Spirit also utilizes a special duct system to cool down and vent it's exhaust to prevent being detected by infra-red systems although this is not as effective as it's ability to "trick" radar.
RPG STATS
Vehicle Type: B-2 Spirit
Class: Multi-Role Heavy Bomber
Manufacturer: Northrop Grumman Corporation
Crew: Two, Aircraft Commander and Mission Commander
MDC BY LOCATION:
(1) Main Body 350
(2) Wings 100 each
NOTES:
- (1) The Main Body includes the cockpit, both engines, and the middle 1/3 of the aircraft.
- (1) Due to it's stealthy design any attackers receive a -6 penalty to hit with radar guided weapons and a -3 penalty to hit with infra-red guided weapons.
- (1) Once the B-2 has taken any damage the plane loses it's stealth bonus due to jagged edges and parts revealed to radar.
- (1) Radars lose roughly 90% of detection range vs the B-2. So that a radar with a range of 200 miles will only detect it at around 20 miles!
- (2) Destroying either wing will cause the pilot to lose control and the aircraft will crash.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE B-2 SPIRIT:
- AUTOPILOT: The B-2 is equipped with an advanced autopilot. While it could travel a mission alone doctrine dictates that at least one pilot be alert at all times.
- EJECTION SEATS: The two ejector seats are mounted below a blow away canopy to prevent injury upon ejection.
- COUNTER-MEASURES: The B-2 does mount chaff and flare systems but relies primarily on it's stealthy design to avoid radars and missiles.
- IN-FLIGHT REFUEL: The B-2 is capable of in-flight refueling expanding its range only to crew endurance.
- RADIO COMMUNICATIONS: Long Range communication is provided by the AN/ARC-210 and AN/ARC-310. Range: 600 miles or can be boosted indefinitely by MILSAT relays.
